Generally, it is a whole lot cheaper to rent off of Airbnb than is to get a hotel. On average, my family pays anywhere from $25 to $40 a night on Airbnb. The longer our stay is, the cheaper our rate is. We try and stay at a place for a least a month to get the monthly discount typically offered by Airbnb hosts. Remember to ALWAYS ask for a discount when using Airbnb. On the other hand, finding even an old motel for less than $50 a night is damn near impossible.
Momma Needs Space
You get more space with Airbnb. The great thing about Airbnb is you are usually getting a home which means more space on vacation. This is great for families with kids because parents and kids can have their own space. When my kiddos are driving me absolutely nuts like they are supposed to, I can pour a glass of wine, close my bedroom door, and read my favorite book How To Be a Badass by Jen Sincero. Don’t you want that same space on your vacation?
Getting To Know The Locals
When you rent off of Airbnb, you get to be amongst the locals which can be such a great experience for the whole family. Too often people go on vacation and miss the true beauty of the country because they stayed at the resort the whole time. Airbnb changes that and you actually get to know the local people.
Momma Likes To Cook
Okay, I lied. I don’t like to cook but I do love to have the option of cooking. One of my biggest expenses with traveling is eating out. Luckily, on Airbnb, I usually rent a place with a kitchen and try and cook breakfast and lunch to save money. When I am in a hotel and don’t have access to a kitchen, I tend to spend a whole lot more on eating out. Having a kitchen as an option truly changes the game. Especially with kids.
